” As the shutters opened at a warehouse near Castell’Arquato to reveal the Monoposto, I instantly fell in love! There are very few road legal cars which have such a race car presence about them. It’s like a modern interpretation of a Jaguar D-Type but with naughty noughties lines and an Italian themed racing livery.

“… The Best of Italy Festival organisers have built a replica of the Maserati 320S Concept that was presented at the 2001 Geneva Show. Designed by Fabrizio Giugiaro at Italdesign Giugiaro the 320S was built on a shortened 3200 GT Coupe platform, which heralded the dimensions of the Maserati Spyder introduced in 2004.
Built by Candini, renowned Maserati specialists in Modena, the 320S was powered by the 3200 GT Coupe’s 90° V8 twin turbo engine, with a power output of 370bhp at 6250rpm mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It was fitted with uprated brakes and suspension and ran on 9.5J front and 10.5J rear rims.
The Best of Italy version was converted in the UK from a 4200 GT Coupe, which has the normally aspirated 400bhp V8…”
